Dear Mr. and Mrs. Trinh, Quang + family,

I want to send you my sincerest condolences to you and your family about the passing away of Linda. I am still so shocked and sad. How can anyone take away a precious life, someone like Linda, who’s kindness and smile was able to bring happiness to all around her.

I don’t know if you know me, but I admired and respected Linda, and I loved her so much as a friend, sister and teammate. I played on the same volleyball team with Linda (her freshman and sophomore year). She used to motivate me so much and also gave me confidence. We used to talk after practice and we promised each other we’ll practice really hard and play more during games. I remember after one game in D.C., Mr. and Mrs. Trinh brought us the team fried rice and spring rolls. Thank you! I was in Alpha Phi with Linda – I’m 2 years older than Linda – so when she was selecting which sorority to join, I remember I wanted Linda so much in Alpha Phi, and I “pref-ed” Linda too. She was a wonderful girl! She was always able to put a smile on my face and I truly miss her. I’m from Japan, (currently live in Tokyo) so although I wasn’t able to attend Linda’s funeral, my heart and soul were there for you and your family and Linda’s friends. And Linda will forever live in our hearts. I will definitely remember Linda’s laugh, voice, smile and kindness. She inspired me in many ways, and I will do the best I can to make her live in our hearts.

Hope you and your family can rest in peace…

Sincerely,
Lilian
